Our story

Founded in 1967 on Xingzhong Road in Kaohsiung, Kaohsiung Florist is the original florist of the city's renowned Xingzhong Flower Street. With over 50 years of history, we’ve been proudly rooted in the heart of Kaohsiung’s floral tradition.

Our founder, Mr. Liu, born in 1944, started this journey at a time when Kaohsiung had no flower market. Every night at 9 p.m., he would board a long-distance bus to Taipei to source fresh flowers, arriving at 3 a.m., then taking a Far Eastern Air flight back to Kaohsiung in time to open the shop. The transportation alone cost nearly NT$2,000 each trip — all for the sake of quality.

Together with his wife, they began by selling night-blooming jasmine in a small rental space in Yancheng District. They pedaled bicycles and drove across Taiwan, hauling chrysanthemums to Beidou, gladiolus to Houli, and flowers to markets all over. With a newborn in their arms, they co-founded a wholesale flower store with a few other shop owners before eventually branching out to establish their own: Kaohsiung Florist — a place they could finally call home.

We started with just three types of flowers — chrysanthemums, gladiolus, and jasmine. Over time, we expanded to include roses, lilies, bouquets, flower baskets, and potted plants. Today, we proudly offer full wedding floral arrangements and custom flower design services. With every bloom, we carry on a legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and heartfelt service.
